Queens Greatest Hits 1 & Greatest Hits 2 re-issued
Island Records have re-issued Queen’s Greatest Hits I and Greatest Hits II collections. the reissue is in celebration of Queen’s 40th anniversary. Greatest Hits I remains the best selling UK album of all time and combined with Greatest Hits II , the collection presents the definitive Queen collection for any Queen fan or lover of Queen’s music. Together they have sold an over 40m copies worldwide.
For the reissue, both albums , GHI and GHII, have been digitally remastered by Bob Ludwig. Bob has worked with greats like U2 and Coldplay. The Greatest Hits re-release comes complete with refreshed sleeve notes, some there is something new for everyone.
The Greatest Hits’ re-release is the start of a huge year for Queen – 2011 marks the 40th anniversary of their formation in 1971.
Queens Move to Island Records
Queen recently moved from EMI to Island Records, who are going to re-issue the first five albums which Queen released – “Queen”, “Queen II”, “Sheer Heart Attack”, “A Night At The Opera” and “A Day At The Races. The further re-issues will be re-mastered and re-packaged into special deluxe album formats released in March 2011.
Other Queen Anniversary Events
Other events marking the 40th anniversary of Queen include, Stormtroopers in Stilettos an exhibition, a major BBC TV Documentary, and the commencement of filming on Queen the Movie starring Sacha Baron Cohen as Freddie Mercury.
